JOLLANG, Apr 25: The Don Bosco College (DBC) in collaboration with medical wing of Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association (APCA) organized a free multispecialty health camp in its campus on Thursday as part of its NSS cell’s annual special camp, a commendable initiative aimed at bolstering community healthcare.
About 265 patients from Jollang and neighboring areas, like BPL Colony and Chimpu, immensely benefitted from the camp, conducted by healthcare professionals, including Dr. Rina Ronya, APCA medical wing president, TRIHMS specialists and dentists.
Former state chief minister Nabam Tuki, addressing as the chief guest, stressed on symbiotic relationship between physical and mental well-being and urged all students to prioritize their health.
Terming DBC as premier educational institution in the state, he lauded its concerted endeavor with the APCA for greater welfare of the society.
Appreciating the impactful initiative of the NSS cell, DBC principal Dr. Fr. Jose George urged all present, including teachers, staff, students and local residents to avail the free services.
Highlighting the APCA’s altruistic endeavors through medical wing, its president Taw Tebin outlined plans for future medical camps across the state.
Emphasizing on need of such health camps, TRIHMS assistant professor-cum-orthopedic surgeon Dr. Tabu Muri called for accessibility of healthcare facilities at the doorsteps of the masses.
